Nudes
There are few more challenging tasks for a painter than to represent the mood, the vitality or the lack thereof, the strength or weakness of the human being without the protection of any clothing. Eroticism is hardly ever involved.

2008Inspired by a visit to Borg Verhilverdsum in North Groningen. They have magnificent sculptures by Eddy Roos. Two of them I brought together with some poetic license.
Without words
2008I painted the female as a study. Then the 'penseur' (elsewhere in this group) came back to mind. I added him with an appropriate background.
